Nothing particularly eventful over the past few days. I'll start at Monday though.

Monday was pretty uneventful, since I ended up not going to college. I woke up at 6:50am as usual, but something told me it was a bad idea to go to college. Though I was feeling ok, I had a very strong feeling that, since I'd only had about three hours sleep the night before, I'd be feeling quite ill by around 10am. I decided to go back to sleep. That's all Monday consisted of really.

Tuesday brought a lesson with Tony, the wonderful multimedia teacher who everyone officially dislikes. He can't pronounce his H's, like a true Scouser, so when he told us all to adjust the hue on a picture, he told us all to "adjust the you".

"The what?"
"The you"
"..."..."OH the hue!"

The good thing is that I actually learnt a little in the lesson. Little being the keyword, but i'm trying to be optimistic.

After the lesson, I had an eye exam at 12:20pm. The woman who seen me was so nice. Really friendly. But, i'm not sure if she's actually trained to be that friendly because it did seem a little too professional. You know the kind I mean? The kind where they smile that permanent smile and after everything they say they smile too. That kind.

I got called into the eye examination room and I sat in the chair. The optician put those eye test specs on me and asked me to reel off the letters on the board with my glasses on. Pretty easy, though I bet I got a few of the bottom line wrong.

I started having an uncontrollable urge to laugh, because I could imagine myself walking into college with these huge, glassless plastic glasses on. It amused me and I couldn't help but giggle slightly. It only got worse when he turned the lights off and looked into my eye with the little torch. It's a bit disconcerting having someone a few centimetres away from your eyes looking right into one of them. Well it amused me anyway.

He told me my eyes had gotten worse, but only slightly. He offered me a chance to try out contact lenses and I accepted. I got sent back to the smiley smiley woman and she showed me how to put a lens in my eye, in her eye. Damn, that must be annoying surely? Showing people how to put contact lenses in all day. Not the nicest of things to be doing.

She then handed me two lenses for me to try. I opened up the first one, which was in a sterile solution and put it on my finger and tried to get it in the right position to put it in my eye, but that must of taken about two minutes alone, just for one! Once I had it on my finger, I looked in the mirror and kind of deliberately poked myself in the eye to put it in place. A bit too awkward if you ask me.

So I managed to do both of them and the woman left me for a while, saying it'd take a few minutes for me to get adjusted to them, but every time I moved my eyes, I could feel the lenses a lot moving about and it felt quite uncomfortable. I was patient though and hoped the feeling would wear off, but when she came back five minutes later to ask if they were feeling more comfortable, I replied "not really". She looked a bit confused. "Give it a few more minutes and if they're still uncomfortable I'll get someone to take them out for you", she replied. By now my eyes were pretty watery and red.

After those few more minutes she came back again and I said I'd like them out. I could of done it myself, but I went back to the optician, once again sitting in the chair. "If you'd just look down please", he asked, and I did so, before he places his hands around my eye and for a few seconds, it felt like he was trying to squeeze my eyeball out. I was pretty scared for a second! Once the first one was out he proceeded to squeeze my other eyeball. Ah joy, both of them out. Immediatly my eyes felt better.

God knows how you manage to wear them every day.

Now that contacts were out of the question, me and smiley smiley woman went to check out the glasses, but all of them sucked. I tried a few pairs on, but they were quite horrible, including a pair for 128. Ha. Like i'm gonna spend 128 on a pair of glasses. She reminded me that they were actually on sale, with 50% off, so they were actually 64, and because I am benefits, I also get a 33.50 voucher towards glasses, so they would actually be just over 30 for a designer pair of glasses.

They were still shitty.

We looked at a few more pairs, before she asked one of her colleagues to go look in the basement. While he done that she found another pair for me to try on and this time they were pretty similar to my current pair and I was liking them. The good new was that they were only 30, which meant I got them free with my voucher! "Free is good", I told her. I don't think she found it very funny though. Maybe she doesn't get any commission from me cos I didn't sign up to a contact lens subscription or buy expensive glasses. Ha!

Her colleague came back with two more pairs of glasses, but by then I'd already chose my nice cheap, free pair. I said I'd pick them up tomorrow ie today.

Speaking of today...

It was quite a boring photography lesson, but an insightful lesson in socialising, with Dave who is fast becoming a great friend.

Basically we got to spend some time together, when it emerged that he had no money for lunch so I offered to buy him it for him since hell, he fucking earns it every day by making me laugh so much.

We went to get chips and sat on the benches outside college, before coming inside from the cold and sitting in the cafe, talking for ages, or rather he was talking and I was happily listening. Basically I asked him how he got into puppeteering and he explained that it was because one night his Dad needed someone to do it and offered him a chance to. That's how it started. Then we got on to whether I have a girlfriend or not. I said I'd been seeing someone for a few weeks, but it wasn't anything serious as of yet. I asked him about his girlfriend and he described her to me. Because we were alone, he let down his guard a little from the always smiling, always joking, always perving person he usually is and I felt like (without sounding too cheesy) we shared a moment.

He told me about the parties he's had in the past at his house. Damn, he's had some mad times. Sounds like he throws some serious parties. He invited me to one too! He said in about two weeks I could come to his for a party. Cool.

He named a few girls that I'd like, but to be honest, I doubt any would actually like me. What kind of girl am I appealable to? Because I really don't know. Seriously, do any of you have any idea? Please let me know.

After lunch and getting to know Dave better, the class went in the darkroom which is, well, uh, dark. Like, completely dark. No light at all. It's a bit uncomfortable at first, having your eyes open, but not being able to see anything at all. It also gets very hot in there, considering it's a small room and there was 14 of us in there.

Oh yeah, Dave managed to take this pic of Leanne, which i'm thankful to him for, because it means you lucky people get to see more of my friends. Not that they know they're having the honour of being adored by thousands of course (so maybe not thousands...).

I picked up my glasses after college from smiley smiley woman. They take a while to get used to though. Everything is sharper. But, for some reason, a side effect of new glasses is that when you look down, it looks like your feet are miles away from you. It looks like the ground starts to dip nearer your feet. Very strange.

So that's my college days this week. Tomorrow I have multimedia with (nice teacher) Brian Johnson. We're using Illustrator, which is a program I've been trying to get to grips with more by myself. It's a good program. Looking forward to using it more.

Speaking of things i'm looking forward to, I finally get to see Alice on Sunday. Sadly not Saturday like usual, but Sunday is good enough. I'm planning on telling my mum and Laura to go out. I don't care where of course, but I want the house to myself so me and Alice can be alone in it for a few hours.

I've been waiting to kiss Alice for nearly two weeks now. Finally it's almost here!
