I'm the foreign guy
(Originally written 21st October @ 3:23am)

Fuck. So drunk. Awesome.

Forgive me if any of this doesn't make sense or sounds weird, but as I write it, I'm still very much drunk and for prosperity, I'm not going to edit it tomorrow.

Remember I spoke about the American girls who live next door and who I wanted to meet and get to know? Tonight, I did!

I'll rewind to the beginning of today though.

Today started off with me taking pictures of shop logos to make more magazine covers and then by the time I was done, it was 4:30pm. As I left the house, I noticed that all of the rubbish had disappeared from where it was. There was nothing. I was very happy. I don't know who had cleaned it up, but I was very happy they had. It means that there's less chance there'll be rats about.

I wanted to go to the library after that to photocopy some stuff and to go on MSN for a bit so I got a cab which took me like 20 minutes instead of 5 because it was rush hour.

I stayed in the library until 7:30pm which is when it closed. Surprisingly, there weren't that many people online.

I talked to a girl called Sarah who sent me two naked pics of herself. Awesome. It feels so risky and fun looking at naked picture in a library of all places! I really want to meet her and she said she wants to too, but I don't know if I believe her.

I walked home and arrived at about 8pm. Aneil was in the kitchen and said that i had mail. Mail? Sure enough there was a letter addressed to "Neill Room 4" on top of the fridge. My name is Neil and I'm in room 5 but meh, whatever. I opened the letter.

Hows it going Neill. This is Alan, Aaron + Jesse from 45A [next door]. If you fancy a few beers later give a knock in about 8 or half past. My number is ___. Might see you later yeah! If not give me a ring or text on that number if you fancy doing anything next week. Good luck!

That made me happy. It meant that the message from Sarah in the accommodation office had gotten through to the guys at 45a that there was a guy (me) at 47a who needed a few friends.

I quickly got ready and text this Alan person saying that if they were still going out, let me know and I'd come. I had said the night before that I'd look after my money better but making friends it far more important than both education and money and I wasn't going to waste an oppurtunity to make new friends.

At 9pm, I knocked on next door and a guy answered. It was Alan. He introduced me to three other guys. Clarence (I think), Jesse and Aaron and maybe one more. They were sitting in the corridoor and had just played some poker. I felt very self concious and outnumbered. Me versus four strange guys! I also felt proud of myself for actually accepting Alan's offer to come round.

About ten minutes later, Alan suggested we go and see what the girls were doing on the second floor. This is exactly what I'd wanted; To be introduced to the American girls. I didn't actually care so much if any of them fancied me, just that from what I had heard over the nights, they sounded fun to hang out with so I was really happy when I got to meet them!

There were six in the upstairs kitchen, all talking and laughing. I cautiously waved and said hi to them as I entered the kitchen behind Alan. He told me their names, but they were pretty much forgotten soon after. However, off the top of my head, I remember Abi, Amanda, Jacquie and Bridgette. Bridgette and Jacquie were hot, especially Bridgette who had ginger(ish) hair.

Me and a few of them ended up playing a drinking game. There were four people on two teams. Each team had to get a coin into a cup by bouncing it off the table. The first team to five won and the other team had to drink a huge pitcher of alcohol which consisted mostly of Budweiser, but other stuff as well. My team won twice in a row and we made the other team down the pitcher between each of them. We lost the following two games and I had the 'pleasure' of helping the team down the pitcher. Everyone was rather impressed that I drank so much of it. Fucking hell, so was I considering I don't even like beer. I almost managed to down nearly five pints worth of alcohol! I was impressed/shocked with myself.

Naturally, after participating in the downing of a pitcher's worth of alcohol twice, I began to feel quite drunk, but I didn't want to feel too pissed because I wanted to get to know some of the people in the hall first. I talked to two people the most; Amanda and Bridgette. Amanda asked me what the logo on my t-shirt was. I had specifically worn my deviantART t-shirt just incase any of them happened to know what it was. It's simply a black t-shirt with dA's logo on the front of it. I told her what it was and she said she used to be a member of it. I was happy that one of them knew what it was. She said she used to be a keen photographer.

The other person I talked to the most was Bridgette. I can't remember what she is studying, but I know she is from New York state and I know she is hot.

After the pitcher games, we then ended up playing something called "Fuck the dealer", whereby you guess what number a card is in a pack of cards and if you guess wrong, you have to drink. At first, the forfeit was that you have to take an item of clothing off but luckily, that was overted. I didn't really fancy getting naked in front of people I'd only just met!

It goes without saying that after all of these drinking games, I was feeling rather drunk.

Oh, and as a sidenote, Alan told me that someone had told him that we'd be getting net access on October 28th. Please be right! It would be so damn cool if he's right.

I also met two or three girls who lived upstairs and who were from Spain. It's really weird being in such a multicultural accommodation. It feels like I'm living abroad or something. Americans, Irish, Spanish, German, Indian and then there's me - Liverpudlian! Very weird.

At 12:45am we all headed to RBs. I was quite hoping that Bridgette would tag along but she apparantly decided to stay home. The rest of us went. It was SIX FUCKING POUNDS just to get in. Rip off. Regardless, I paid because I wanted to socialise as best I could with everyone although once inside, everyone seemed to split up and I stuck with one of the girls and two guys for a bit. I only stayed in RBs for about an hour altogether before deciding I was very bored of it, regardless of how drunk I was and left.

One of the good things about living where I live is that I can literally walk around the corner from RBs and I'm home.

Once home, I made something to eat, texting Kerry too, saying I'd made friends with next door and that I fancied Bridgette. I also said "You all suck", referring to girls not fancying me and that I needed a good fuck. I also text Alan saying he was a lucky bastard to be living with so many hot girls. I also thanked him for posting the letter to me and inviting me round. He text back saying no problem and come round any time.

So, overall, a pretty damn good night, I'd say! In the space of one night, I've met at least seven or eight new people. It rocks. These are the people I've wanted to meet since coming to Chester and now that I have, I'm very glad. I'm hoping that now I've met them, the friendships become stronger and maybe, just maybe, living here won't seem like such a hellish place.

Tonight is easily up there in my "Best of Chester" nights.
